Today was a big day for our little guy: they popped his top! He has been maintaining his temperature so the took the top off his incubator. What a huge step for Charlie! It’s so much easier to see him and talk to him without that barrier. It’s like he’s in a real bed now instead of a box. He is still on cpap and doing great! He’s been resting and growing a lot this past week, and he is officially over 4lbs!
Now that Charlie is on cpap, he can actually cry and he is pretty good at it for being so small! He doesn’t seem to cry too often but when he does, he makes mom cry, too. And not only is he tough, he is very strong. When he’s laying on his belly, (which is his favorite position), he can push himself up and turn his head whichever way he likes, which is not an easy task with all the equipment on his head! What a cool guy!
He continues to impress everyone with his progress and we are just so thankful for everything God has done for us. It’s been a long road already and we still have quite a ways to go, but every day is a gift. Can’t believe he’s 2 days away from being 3 months old! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our sweet boy.
*we took his mask off just for the picture*
Between the latest update & Aunt Joani & Uncle Terry's comment, I'm in tears as this is just so inspiring. Maintaining his temp, on CPap & open for all to see reminds me of how far he's come from the time we've seen him...what a gift God has bestowed on you all. Love & prayers are joined to those 2nd graders who are on this journey with you.
Happy Easter.
Cutest little leprechaun I've ever seen! The 2nd graders at St. Joe's will love this picture. Charlie continues to be our focus for our daily prayer pause. May the dreams you hold dearest be those which come true and the kindness you spread keep returning to you. Love you!
