Charlie has been having a pretty good week! He has been very stable, for the most part, and just growing and resting. His tube did come out again, (for the 7th time), but he is doing very well with his new tube and we hope to try the CPAP again very soon!
Charlie had his first eye exam and the ophthalmologists were very happy with how his eyes look! They said the vessels in his eyes are not fully developed, of course, but growing in the right direction. Mom made the mistake of watching them do the exam; it was quick but they used eye speculums to keep his lids open. Poor guy! He handled it very well and they will continue to do exams every two weeks to make sure his eyes continue to develop properly.
Charlie has been doing so well that they don’t have to run blood tests as often! He gets his blood drawn every other day now, which I’m sure he appreciates! It gives his little heels a break and it keeps him from needing blood so often. They did run a test to check if he is producing his own red blood cells and he is! He’s a rockstar!
Our big guy weighs 3lbs 4oz now! He is very alert when he’s awake and very squirmy. He loves to move and grab things like fingers, his face, his tube. The nurses try to keep him as contained as possible to prevent him from grabbing his tube because he can’t be trusted hahaha. Last night, he was actually swaddled in a receiving blanket for the first time! He looked as snug as a bug and so adorable.
Thanks for keeping up with Charlie’s progress! We apologize for the lack of posts lately. Busy schedules make it hard to keep up sometimes, but we appreciate your support and prayers! Please continue to pray for Charlie’s lungs and that he will be ready for the CPAP soon! God bless you all!

Look how big he's getting and oh, so cute. What a gift from God!!! Praying for all of you.
This is such great news. He is doing amazing!! So happy for all of you.
