Charlie has had a busy couple of days! Last night his breathing tube came out and the doctors had to place a new one; he gave Mom and Dad quite a scare! He stabilized rather quickly after replacing his tube and freshening up his bedding. Mom was even lucky enough to help by getting to pick him up for the first time while they changed the bed! Charlie has had a bumpy day today and he received his 9th blood transfusion. They had trouble finding a good vein to put the IV in, so they had to put the IV in his head. He handled it like a champ as always. He’s one tough cookie! Charlie hasn’t been tolerating his feedings very well and has been spitting up. They’ve tried stopping his milk feedings every once in a while but he continued to spit up, so they have stopped them for the night. They also did an abdominal X-ray to check on his stomach and intestines to make sure there isn’t an underlying problem. They didn’t see anything definitive, so they will be doing another X-ray later tonight to check for any differences. Stomach issues can be common in premies but can be dangerous. The doctors are monitoring him very closely, and for that, we are thankful. If you’d like to be specific in praying for Charlie, we ask you pray for his PDA (opening in his heart) to close and for any stomach issues to be resolved. We thank you for your prayers and for supporting our sweet baby.

Continued prayers. I think you being there for him makes him fight all the more. He's a champ.
