Charlie is 5 weeks old today! He has been recovering from his surgery so nicely and we couldn’t be happier. He had to get his 13th blood transfusion yesterday, but that was his first one in a week! He has been tolerating mom’s milk very well, so they increased his amount from 1mL to 4.5mL every three hours! He has gained 3oz since birth, which is great for someone his size! We are excited to watch him continue to grow!

The doctors and nurses want us to do the skin-to-skin care with Charlie at least once a day, (as long as he’s doing well)! It is such a blessing to get to hold him and it’s great to know it is beneficial for him, too! He has been doing an amazing job every time we have taken him out; keeping up his temperature and all his stats. He’s a little rockstar!

Thank you all so much for all the prayers you are sending our way! Please continue to pray for Charlie’s growth and lung development. God bless!

They only opened the isolette up to put him back after we held him and to get the picture. I’m not entirely sure on his head size but I know he can’t wear knit things because of his skin. Thank you, though!

Tears streaming...what a great pic of the 3 of you. He's in an open crib? How long since that's gone on? He's just the miracle God has blessed you with. Wonder what his head circumference is as I wanted to ask this lady to make him a hat...what would you say...the size of a tennis ball? or not that big yet?
