Charlie was having a nice, quiet week of just resting and growing. He was feeling spunky today and his tube came out again for the 5th time. They tried to put him on the CPAP to see if he could tolerate it because he hasn’t been liking his tube, but he wasn’t doing well on it and they had to put his tube back in.

He had been doing very well, respiratory-wise, and the doctors wanted to try the CPAP soon. As he gets older, he is becoming more aware of his surroundings and he has found that he does not like his tube. This has its pros and cons: It’s good because it means he is growing and developing but it’s not so good because he is resisting the tube and trying to get rid of it. That’s why they were moving toward putting him on the CPAP. He didn’t tolerate it well today but hopefully he will be ready soon.

Other than that, Charlie is getting to be a chunky little guy! He is getting lots of milk and is quickly approaching 3lbs! He actually has chubby cheeks now! He also got his stitches out from his PDA ligation and the incision looks great. They said he shouldn’t have a very big scar when he’s older even though it looks big now. He is just a little champion!

Please keep Charlie in your prayers and pray for the growth and rest he needs for his lungs to get better. He’s not quite strong enough to breathe on his own (like on the CPAP) but he will get there! Thank you all so much for the prayers and for continuing on this journey with us! God bless.
