This weekend, Charlie took a big step and said goodbye to the cpap machine! He is officially on a high flow nasal cannula, which is amazing! He has been doing great on it so far and it’s wonderful to finally see his face without all the machinery on it. He is so extremely handsome, (I may be very biased but it’s true)! This cannula is the next big step for Charlie. Once he can go from high flow oxygen to low flow, he can start trying to bottle feed! One step closer to coming home.

One other thing made this weekend great and it was that Theo got to see Charlie up close and hold him for the first time! He was sure to kiss him and tell him how much he loved him. It only lasted about a minute before Theo was ready to give him back (haha) but it was so precious to watch Theo love on his baby brother. After that he kept asking if Charlie could come home with us, and my heart ached to say yes. Hopefully we will be bringing him home before we know it!

Charlie has an eye exam scheduled for tomorrow so we will see how his eyes are doing. His eyes were still stage 2 at his last exam, so they didn’t get better but they didn’t get worse either. All good things! He also weighs 6lbs 12oz! I’m sure he will be over 7 lbs by next week at this rate!

We thank you all so much for all the prayers and support. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! Please pray that Charlie can stay on this cannula and progress when he’s ready! We love you all and God bless!

What a great family picture. So exciting to be together and for Theo to get to hold him, if only for a minute. To see him getting so big is almost unbelievable and without all the "gear" is the best part of all. So happy for all of you. You remain in our constant prayers and to think of getting home before too long is a real blessing. Love to all.
